Stability analysis in elite sugarcane varieties of Fiji
2015 2nd Asia-Pacific World Congress on Computer Science and Engineering (APWC on CSE), 2015The present investigation was conducted to identify the stable cultivars across different environmental condition. Seventeen genotypes of which fourteen were in the final stage of multi-location secondary adaptation trials of the plant breeding program and three commercial varieties were evaluated in five different locations.

Photosynthesis in Sugarcane Varieties Under Field Conditions
Crop Science, 1967Rates of photosynthesis per unit of leaf area (P) differed among 10 varieties of sugarcane in a replicated field test. The variety ‘F. 36‐819’ was significantly higher in P than all others and the hybrids of Saccharum officinarum were lower than the interspecific hybrids.

Studies on salinity stress tolerance in sugarcane varieties
Sugar Tech, 2010Ten sugarcane varieties were evaluated for physiobiochemical parameters along with protein profile under normal and saline conditions. The reduction frequency ranged from 8.8 to 56.6% in shoot height, 5.9 to 36.2% in leaf area, and 2.1 to 8.9% in biomass production indicating that these traits were adversely affected due to salinity stress.

The genome of modern sugarcane varieties
1997Molecular markers provide a powerful tool to study the structure and variation of the sugarcane genome. Diversity has been studied using DNA Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP) revealed within the cytoplasmic genomes and within the nuclear genome, using ribosomal repeated DNA sequences and single copy sequences as probes.

The genome of modern sugarcane varieties

Biotechnology for variety development in sugarcane
