Sugarcane root system depth in three different countries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
THE SUGARCANE root system depth is crucial as it determines the potential depth of soil available for water and nutrient uptake by the crop. It was reported in an early publication that these roots could grow quite deep (6 m), but otherwise very little ...

Time-Frequency Dynamics of Biofuels-Fuels-Food System [PDF]

open access: yesEnergy Economics 40, pp. 233-241, 2013, 2012
For the first time, we apply the wavelet coherence methodology on biofuels (ethanol and biodiesel) and a wide range of related commodities (gasoline, diesel, crude oil, corn, wheat, soybeans, sugarcane and rapeseed oil). This way, we are able to investigate dynamics of correlations in time and across scales (frequencies) with a model-free approach.

On Integrating Fuzzy Knowledge Using a Novel Evolutionary Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesProcs. of the IEEE 10th International Conference on Computer & Information Technology (ICCIT 2007), pp. 38-43, Dhaka, Bangladesh, December 27-29, (2007), 2013
Fuzzy systems may be considered as knowledge-based systems that incorporates human knowledge into their knowledge base through fuzzy rules and fuzzy membership functions. The intent of this study is to present a fuzzy knowledge integration framework using a Novel Evolutionary Strategy (NES), which can simultaneously integrate multiple fuzzy rule sets ...
