Synthesis and Characterization of Bioactive Acylpyrazolone Sulfanilamides and Their Transition Metal Complexes: Single Crystal Structure of 4-Benzoyl-3-methyl-1-phenyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one Sulfanilamide

open access: yesBioinorganic Chemistry and Applications, 2015
Two Schiff base ligands Ampp-Sn 1 and Bmpp-Sn 2, afforded by a condensation reaction between sulfanilamide and the respective acylpyrazolone carbonyl precursors, their Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) complexes prepared by the reaction of ligands and ...

Cobalt Single‐Atom Catalysts for Ultrafast Sulfamethoxazole Degradation: Unveiling the Chloride‐Ion‐Enhanced Formation of Co(IV)=O

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An atomically dispersed Co–N4 single‐atom catalyst rapidly activates peroxymonosulfate to remove the antibiotic sulfamethoxazole from water. Common ions have little impact, but chloride dramatically speeds degradation by promoting a high‐valent Co(IV) = O oxidant via in situ HOCl–catalyst electron transfer.

Potential of Bee Pollen as a Nutraceutical And/Or Functional Ingredient for Metabolic Syndrome Management: In Vitro Antioxidant, Anti‐Inflammatory, and Digestive Enzyme Inhibitory Activities

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Bee pollen samples from China and Spain exhibited in vitro antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and digestive enzyme inhibitory activities due to their composition, suggesting their potential as a nutraceutical or functional ingredient to help counteract oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, and metabolic disorders.

Ecotoxicological Insights From Ex Vivo Exposure of Whole Blood to PFOS and Glyphosate: Oxidative Stress and Immune Disruption

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigated the immunomodulatory effects of PFOS and glyphosate (GLY), both individually and in combination, on the whole blood of three ruminant species (cow, goats, and sheep) exposed ex vivo to environmentally relevant concentrations. The research focused on key biomarkers of oxidative stress (MDA), inflammation (myeloperoxidase

Problems of in vitro Antibiotic Susceptibility Compliance with Efficacy of Chemotherapy in Infections Due to Pathogenic Burkholderias

open access: yesАнтибиотики и Химиотерапия, 2020
Among the known species of Burkholderia only two are obligate pathogens, i. e. B.mallei and B.pseudomallei, causative agents of glanders and melioidosis respectively.

Spin Crossover around Room Temperature: Effects of Remote Ligand Symmetry Breaking within Jäger‐Type Iron(II) Complexes

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
Remote symmetry breaking in Jäger‐type iron(II) complexes shifts stepwise spin crossover (SCO) profiles to continuous profiles with transition temperatures around room temperature. In a bottom‐up approach, we studied the feedback of slight molecular modifications on the spin crossover (SCO) properties of otherwise structurally conserved iron(II ...
