Modification of lymphocyte migration by sulfated polysaccharides

European Journal of Immunology, 1986
AbstractThe role of sulfated polysaccharides in lymphocyte migration has been analyzed in vivo using lymphocytes labeled with an intracellular DNA‐binding fluorochrome Hoechst 33342. The influence of a panel of sulfated polysaccharides on entry (by injecting the sulfated polysaccharide prior to the labeled cells) and displacement from lymphoid organs ...

Adjuvanticity of compound astragalus polysaccharide and sulfated epimedium polysaccharide per os

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2013
On the basis of previous researches, compound astragalus polysaccharide (APS) and sulfated epimedium polysaccharide (sEPS) oral liquid (AEO) was prepared. Three hundred and twenty 14-day-old chickens were randomly assigned into eight groups and vaccinated with ND vaccine except for blank control (BC) group, repeated vaccination at 28 days old.

A Novel Method for Differentiating Dextran Sulfate from Related Sulfated Polysaccharides

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1991
A method is described for unequivocal identification of dextran sulfate, based on combined chemical desulfation and dextranase enzymolysis of dextran sulfate moieties to isomaltose, a specific indicator of dextran-type precursors. The method was developed using high-resolution (300 MHz) 1H NMR spectroscopy for assurance of the molecular transformations,

Sulfated polysaccharide from sea cucumber modulates the gut microbiota and its metabolites in normal mice.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2018
Sulfated polysaccharide from sea cucumber (SCSP) has been demonstrated with various health effects, the mechanism of which, however, remains poorly understood. This study aimed to investigate the possible mechanism exhibited by gut microbiota in response

Immune-enhancing activity comparison of sulfated ophiopogonpolysaccharide and sulfated jujube polysaccharide

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2013
The immune-enhancing activities of four sulfated polysaccharides, sOPS(t), sOPS(80), sJPS(t) and sJPS(50) picked out in our previous researches, were compared taking four corresponding unmodified polysaccharides as control. In vitro experiment, the effects of eight polysaccharides on chicken peripheral lymphocyte proliferation were determined by MTT ...

Sulfated polysaccharides and their anticoagulant activity: A review

Applied Biochemistry and Microbiology, 2010
Published data on the sulfated polysaccharides of various origins that display an anticoagulant activity are summarized and analyzed. The methods used for producing semisynthetic derivatives are considered. A key role of the polysaccharide structure in the mechanisms of specific interaction with various blood plasma proteinases is discussed.

Microwave-assisted desulfation of sulfated polysaccharides

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2007
Abstract Several sulfated polysaccharides were desulfated by heating their pyridinium salts dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide in a microwave oven. The procedure was applied to different products like a λ-carrageenan, a partially cyclized μ/ν-carrageenan, an agar-like product like corallinan, a fucoidan and a chondroitin sulfate.

Fucoidans — sulfated polysaccharides of brown algae

Russian Chemical Reviews, 2009
The methods of isolation of fucoidans and determination of their chemical structures are reviewed. The fucoidans represent sulfated polysaccharides of brown algae, the composition of which varies from simple fucan sulfates to complex heteropolysaccharides. The currently known structures of such biopolymers are presented.

[Hypolipidemic effect of sulfated polysaccharides].

Voprosy meditsinskoi khimii, 1997
In experiments on hyperlipidemic rats it was observed the hypolipidemic effect of new sulfated polisaccharides-chitosan, lutelan and krilan sulfates, More pronounced decrease was established in VLDL and increase of HDL after sulfated polysaccharides treatment. The most distinct efficiency exhibites preparation with moledular mass of 20-40 x 10(3) D and
