Isocyanide‐Induced Esterification of Sulfinic Acids to Access Sulfinates
Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis, 2021AbstractThe isocyanide‐induced esterification of sulfinic acids with alcohols or thiophenols access to sulfinates has been developed. Various primary, secondary, and tertiary alcohols could be compatible with the established protocols. Notably, such an isocyanide‐induced synthetic strategy presented the advantages of simple operation, good functional ...

Sulfinic Acids and Sulfinic Esters
1977Sulfinic acids are formed readily either by reduction of sulfonyl chlorides with zinc and alkaline solution or by alkaline hydrolysis of thiolsulfonates. Unlike the sulfonic acid, the sulfinic acid retains a lone electron pair on the sulfur atom and hence often behaves as a nucleophile.

Sulfinic acids from disulfides: l-[35S]Cysteinesulfinic acid
1987Publisher Summary Sulfinic acids (RSO 2 H) are moderately stable compounds of limited natural occurrence. Only cysteinesulfinate and hypotaurine have been detected in tissues or physiological fluids of normal animals. Two additional sulfinic acids, β-sulfinopyruvate and β-sulfinoacetaldehyde, are formed in vivo but spontaneously decompose with loss
