Crystallization behaviour of poly(ether ether ketone)/poly(ether sulfone) block copolymer
Polymer, 1996The crystallization and melting behaviours of a multiblock copolymer comprising poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) and poly(ether sulfone) (PES) blocks whose number average molecular weights were 10 000 and 2900, respectively, were studied. The effect of thermal history on crystallization was investigated by wide-angle X-ray diffraction measurement.

Sodium sulfonate-functionalized poly(ether ether ketone)s
Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, 1998A new monomer, sodium 5,5'-carbonylbis(2-fluorobenzenesulfonate) (1), was synthesized by sulfonation of 4,4'-difluorobenzophenone (2) with fuming sulfuric acid. Poly(ether ether ketone)s containing sodium sulfonate groups were synthesized directly via aromatic nucleophilic substitution from the sodium sulfonate-functionalized monomer 1 and Bisphenol A (

Poly(vinylbenzyl sulfonic acid)-grafted poly(ether ether ketone) membranes
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2014Abstract In this study, an aromatic hydrocarbon based polymer electrolyte membrane, poly(vinylbenzyl sulfonic acid)-grafted poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK- g -PVBSA), has been prepared by the simultaneous irradiation grafting of vinylbenzyl chloride (VBC) monomer onto a PEEK film and subsequent sulfonation.

High Performance Polymers, 2012
Nafion is a currently used as a proton exchange membrane in vanadium redox flow batteries (VRBs). It is an excellent proton-conducting and fully hydrated membrane, but it is costly. In order to reduce the cost of the membrane used in VRBs and to reduce vanadium permeability across the membrane, sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (S-PEEK) and ...

Novel sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone ketone) derived from bisphenol S
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2004AbstractA series of sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone ketone)s derived from bisphenol S were prepared by nucleophilic polycondensation. They showed high thermal resistance and good solubility. Most of the polymers were easily cast into tough membranes.

Dynamic mechanical behavior of poly(ether ether ketone)/poly(ether sulfone) block copolymers
Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, 1996AbstractPoly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK)/poly(ether sulfone) (PES) block copolymers were synthesized via condensation reaction between fluorineâterminated PEEK oligomers and hydroxylâterminated PES oligomers. The dynamic mechanical behavior of a composite sample prepared by compression molding of a glass fibre cloth and the copolymer was investigated by

Rheology of concentrated sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) solutions
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2013ABSTRACTSulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK), an ionic polymer, has been shown to be a potential candidate for fuel cell electrolyte as a proton exchange membrane. Rheological behavior of SPEEK solutions is of great interest to understand the molecular associations as well as due to implications in membrane processing.

Sulfonated poly(aryl ether ketone)s
Die Angewandte Makromolekulare Chemie, 1998Several kinds of commercially available polymers of the type poly(oxy-1,4-phenylenecarbonyl-1,4-phenylene) were sulfonated by reaction with mixtures of sulfuric acid and oleum. The ether/carbonyl group ratio of the polymer chain varied from 0.67 to 2.0.

Thermal degradation of sulfonated poly(aryl ether ether ketone)
Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, 1995The thermal degradation of sulfonated poly(aryl ether ether ketone) (SPEEK), with various degrees of sulfonation, was investigated by high resolution pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS) and thermogravimetry (TG). It was found that the pyrogram of SPEEK is similar to that of poly(aryl ether ether ketone) (PEEK), but that the ...

Synthesis and properties of poly(ether ether ketone)-poly(ether sulfone) block copolymers
Polymer, 1994Two series of block copolymers composed of poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) and poly(ether sulfone) (PES) components were prepared from the corresponding oligomers via a nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction. In the first series of block copolymers, the Mn of the PEEK segment was fixed at 10 000, while the Mns of the PES segments ranged from 250 ...
