Habitual fasting duration and accelerated multimorbidity in older adults
Abstract Background Prolonged fasting has been linked to metabolic benefits in younger adults, but its effects on chronic diseases in older populations remain unclear. Objective To examine the association between habitual fasting duration and 15‐year chronic disease accumulation in older adults, overall, within organ systems, and between age groups ...

Subversion of Atypical Mucin Traps by a Spore‐Coat Effector Blocks Cellular Immunity in Drosophila
While the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium robertsii can evade insect humoral immunity, its subversion of cellular defenses is still elusive. We identify Eac1 as a spore‐coat protein essential for infecting drosophilids by targeting atypical mucins (Sgf1 and Sgf2), which can entrap spores in a gel matrix and thereby facilitate hemocyte encapsulation.

Abstract This single‐center, single‐arm, Phase I study evaluated drug–drug interactions (DDIs) between cofrogliptin and metformin in healthy Chinese subjects. Twenty‐two subjects sequentially received metformin monotherapy (Days 1–4), cofrogliptin monotherapy (Days 6–34), and combination therapy (Days 38–47).

Hypoglycemic Effect of Astaxanthin Oil–Fish Oil Complex in Mice With Type 2 Diabetes
This study demonstrates that an astaxanthin oil–fish oil complex exerts synergistic hypoglycemic and hepatoprotective effects. It enhances glucose metabolism and relieves oxidative stress in insulin‐resistant HepG2 cells. In high‐fat diet mice, the complex reduces hyperglycemia, improves lipid profiles, and attenuates hepatic steatosis and pancreatic ...

Mechanism‐Informed Pharmacotherapy Optimization and Deprescribing: A Redox–Mitochondrial Framework
From cumulative drug burden to mitochondrial stress and functional decline. The graphical abstract summarizes the central concept of the review, illustrating how cumulative pharmacotherapy exposure may contribute to redox–mitochondrial stress and thereby reduce biological and functional resilience.
