Evaluation of %CV and average glucose derived from pre‐ and postprandial 6‐point glucose measurements for assessing hypoglycemia risk

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Six‐point pre‐ and postprandial glucose values were extracted from CGM to calculate average glucose and %CV. ROC analysis identified AG <167.7 mg/dL and %CV >21.6% as key risk factors, enabling simple detection of high hypoglycemia risk using limited glucose measurements. ABSTRACT Aims/Introduction This study determined the usefulness of coefficient of

Impact of renal function on antidiabetic drug selection in Japan: A real‐world analysis using the J‐DREAMS database

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Using a large Japanese real‐world database, we examined antidiabetic drug selection in first and second therapy stratified by renal function and study period. The earlier initiation of SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP‐1 receptor agonists increased over time, particularly in second therapy, with prescribing patterns increasingly aligned across renal function ...

Association of glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonist use with clinical outcomes in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and type 2 diabetes

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
This TriNetX (US, 2016–2023) study compared clinical outcomes in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and type 2 diabetes treated with GLP‐1 receptor agonists vs DPP4 inhibitors. ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate whether glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) are associated with improved survival and renal outcomes in patients with ...

Five‐year follow‐up of incretin‐based therapy in a patient with KCNJ11‐related permanent neonatal diabetes: Achieving insulin discontinuation and sulfonylurea reduction

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
In a woman with KCNJ11‐related permanent neonatal diabetes mellitus, incretin‐based therapy enabled insulin discontinuation and maintained glycemic control for more than 5 years, with HbA1c between 6.1% and 6.5% on the lowest semaglutide dose, dose‐dependent improvement in insulin secretion, and an approximately 60% reduction in glibenclamide dose ...
