Two processes of sulphur isotope fractionation have been found in experiments with the sulphur purple bacterium Ectothiorhodospira shaposhnikovii. As a result, a light isotope, 32S, is concentrated in residual hydrogen sulphide, and a heavy isotope, 34S, in elementary suphur which is deposited outside the cell.

Multiple sulfur isotope fractionations in inorganic aqueous systems
2016New constraints on isotope fractionation factors in inorganic aqueous sulfur systems based on theoretical and experimental techniques relevant to studies of the sulfur cycle in modern environments and the geologic rock record are presented in this dissertation. These include theoretical estimations of equilibrium isotope fractionation factors utilizing

One into the other. But in that part of the periodic table, in which the evolution of the elements is still proceeding, each place is seen to be occupied not by one element but on the average, for the places occupied at all, by no less than four, the atomic weights of which vary over as much as eight units. It is impossible to believe that the same notopenaire +1 more source
