Electrocatalytic Polarity Inversion of Azlactones: Access to α‐Quaternary Amino Acids with Electron‐Rich SOMOphiles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Electrocatalytic polarity inversion of azlactones unlocks their coupling with electron‐rich reaction partners. Triarylamine‐mediated oxidation of the azlactone enolate generates an electrophilic radical intermediate that undergoes selective C4 functionalization with diverse SOMOphiles.

Etching MXene using Sulfuric Acid

open access: yes, 2018
A new group of two dimensional materials, MXenes, are produced by etching the A-group from MAX phase using Hydrofluoric acid. The purpose in our study is to find out the ideal concentration of sulfuric acid for etching MXenes.

A Modular Synthesis of C5‐Sulfenyl Thiazoles via an Intermolecular Pummerer Rearrangement: An Underexplored Scaffold for Medicinal Chemistry

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Modular access to underexplored C5‐sulfenyl thiazoles via an intermolecular Pummerer rearrangement is reported. The methodology exhibits a broad functional group tolerance enabling the seamless design of trisubstituted thiazole cores bearing a sulfur handle for further elaboration.

Modular Access to α‐Tertiary Amines: Electrochemical Tandem Di‐Functionalization of Olefins With Ammonia Surrogates and Amino Acids

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A metal‐ and oxidant‐free electrochemical multicomponent di‐functionalization strategy that rapidly converts 1,1‐disubstituted alkenes into α‐tertiary primary amines with simultaneous installation of bio‐relevant sulfur or selenium motifs was devised for late‐stage functionalization. ABSTRACT Quaternary carbon centers, especially those bearing nitrogen,

Dibutyl sebacate as PVC ecoplasticizer—economic synthesis and functional properties

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science
One-third of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) applications require plasticization to improve flexibility, softness, and processability. Phthalate esters have been widely used but are now restricted due to their toxicity.

Synthesis of Water-soluble Sulufuric Acid Esters of Chalcones and Sulfuric Acid Esters of Flavonols via Chalcone Sulfates

open access: yesNippon kagaku zassi, 1963

Optimization of Rapeseed Oil Fatty Acid Esterification with Methanol in the Presence of Sulfuric Acid

open access: yes
The interest in biodiesel production from low cost feedstocks is still increasing. Such feedstocks usually contain large amounts of free fatty acids, which make the currently employed base catalysts inefficient, thereby promoting the use of acid ...
