DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

Environmental sustainability in combating wind erosion: Chemical stabilization of sand dunes using acidic mulching

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Wind erosion and desertification are pressing environmental crises in arid and semi-arid regions, causing significant ecological damage through the formation of dunes and the redistribution of sand. This study investigates a chemical stabilization method

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Vanadium Electrolyte for All-Vanadium Redox-Flow Batteries: The Effect of the Counter Ion

open access: yesBatteries, 2019
In this study, 1.6 M vanadium electrolytes in the oxidation forms V(III) and V(V) were prepared from V(IV) in sulfuric (4.7 M total sulphate), V(IV) in hydrochloric (6.1 M total chloride) acids, as well as from 1:1 mol mixture of V(III) and V(IV ...

Water‐Compatible SuFEx‐Active Diazonium Linchpin Platform for Rapid Modular Diversification and On‐DNA Functionalization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur fluoride exchange (SuFEx) is a powerful click platform, yet water‐compatible multifunctional linchpins remain elusive. Here, we report decagram‐scalable diazonium linchpins that enable rapid Pd‐catalyzed diversification and direct, catalyst‐free on‐DNA ligation in aqueous media.

Investigation of Influential Parameters in Deep Oxidative Desulfurization of Dibenzothiophene with Hydrogen Peroxide and Formic Acid

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2013
An effective oxidative system consisting of hydrogen peroxide, formic acid, and sulfuric acid followed by an extractive stage were implemented to remove dibenzothiophene in the simulated fuel oil. The results revealed such a great performance in the case
