Nonparametric estimation in random sum models
Let X1,X2,…,XN be independent, identically distributed, non-negative, integervalued random variables and let N be a non-negative, integer-valued random variable independent of X1,X2,…,XN .

Some Useful Integral Representations for Information-Theoretic Analyses
This work is an extension of our earlier article, where a well-known integral representation of the logarithmic function was explored and was accompanied with demonstrations of its usefulness in obtaining compact, easily-calculable, exact formulas for ...

We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

A Geometric Derivation of the Irwin-Hall Distribution
The Irwin-Hall distribution is the distribution of the sum of a finite number of independent identically distributed uniform random variables on the unit interval.

The Convergence of the Sums of Independent Random Variables Under the Sub-linear Expectations [PDF]
Let { X n ; n ≥ 1} be a sequence of independent random variables on a probability space (Ω ,F ,P) and $${S_n} = \sum\nolimits_{k = 1}^n {{X_k}} $$ . It is well-known that the almost sure convergence, the convergence in probability and the convergence in ...

We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Representations for Integral Functionals of Kernel Density Estimators
We establish a representation as a sum of independent random variables, plus a remainder term, for estimators of integral functionals of the density function, which have a certain simple structure.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.
