Independent Variables with Independent Sum and Difference: S1-Case
A classic result in probability theory states that two independent real-valued random variables having independent sum and difference are either constant or normally distributed with the same variance.

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Randomly Stopped Sums, Minima and Maxima for Heavy-Tailed and Light-Tailed Distributions
This paper investigates the randomly stopped sums, minima and maxima of heavy- and light-tailed random variables. The conditions on the primary random variables, which are independent but generally not identically distributed, and counting random ...

Small deviation probabilities for sums of independent positive random variables
We examine an asymptotic behavior at zero of distributions and densities of a sum of several independent positive random variables under certain assumptions on the decay rate of their distributions at zero. We consider the cases, when the distributions

Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

On the sum of independent zero-truncated poisson random variables
: The objective of this article is to derive the density function and cumulative distribution function for random variables which may be written as the sum of independent (either identical or non-identical) zerotruncated Poisson random variables.

Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Limit distributions of maximum vertex degree in a conditional configuration graph
We consider configuration graphs with N vertices. The degrees of the vertices are independent identically distributed random variables following the power-law distribution with positive parameter τ.
