Solar activity explored with new wavelet methods [PDF]
In order to improve the forecasts of the impact of solar activity on the terrestrial environment on time scales longer than days, improved understanding and forecasts of the solar activity are needed.

Heartbeat of the sun from principal component analysis and prediction of solar activity on a millenium timescale [PDF]
We derive two principal components (PCs) of temporal magnetic field variations over the solar cycles 21-24 from full disk magnetograms covering about 39% of data variance, with σ = 0.67. These PCs are attributed to two main magnetic waves travelling from

Abstract Conventional optical coherence tomography (OCT) has a floor effect in patients with severe visual field loss, such as seen in advanced primary open‐angle glaucoma (POAG). OCT angiography (OCTA) does not suffer from such a floor effect. However, which OCTA parameters are most useful for monitoring longitudinal progression is unclear.

The Solar Flux and Sunspot Number; A Long-Trend Analysis
We investigate the nature of monthly sunspot numbers and solar flux F10.7 by employing the linear and multiple regression techniques. We observed a brilliant correlation between monthly mean sunspot number and F10.7.

Tests of sunspot number sequences: 3. Effects of regression procedures on the calibration of historic sunspot data [PDF]
We use sunspot group observations from the Royal Greenwich Observatory (RGO) to investigate the effects of intercalibrating data from observers with different visual acuities.

Abstract Purpose To compare preoperative characteristics and postoperative anatomical and functional outcomes of scleral buckle surgery using sponges versus tires, as well as explant‐related complications and the frequency of explant removal. Methods This retrospective study included patients with primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) who ...

Forecasting long-term sunspot numbers using the LSTM-WGAN model
The sunspot number, an indicator of solar activity, is vital for forecasting variations in solar activity and predicting disturbances of the geomagnetic field.

Abstract Purpose To investigate changes in choroidal and retinal thickness before and during myopia control treatment with orthokeratology lenses (OKL) in myopic children. Methods This was a sub‐study of CONTROL and CONTROL2 studies. The present study was a 2‐year, prospective, single‐group interventional study consisting of a 6‐month pre‐treatment ...

The revised Brussels-Locarno Sunspot Number (1981-2015)
In 1981, the production of the international Sunspot Number moved from the Z\"{u}rich Observatory to the Royal Observatory of Belgium, marking a very important transition in the history of the Sunspot Number.

Estimation of the Hurst Exponent for the Daily Sunspot Number [PDF]
This paper deals with the estimation of the Hurst exponent of the International relative sunspot number data. We focus on three data sets of the yearly, monthly and daily sunspot numbers, and individually we consider the estimation of the Hurst exponent ...
