Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

Traction Transformer 1 MV.A, Superconducting, Oil-immersed and Medium Frequency

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2008
This paper deals with comparing 3 types of transformers - superconducting, oil-immersed and middle-frequency. These transformers can be used for locomotive as the main transformer. Weight, sizes and losses are introduced.

An ac biased superconducting flux transformer

open access: yesJournal de Physique III, 1994
The coupled motion of the vortex lattices of two electrically insulated, superimposed, superconducting thin films (primary and secondary) in a perpendicular magnetic field, is predicted to exhibit a Josephson-like behavior. For a dc applied current flowing in the primary film, the voltage difference between the time-averaged primary and secondary flux ...

Non‐Destructive Laser Nanopatterning of Superconducting Heterostructures in Topological Sn Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate successful fabrication of high‐quality α‐Sn/β‐Sn planar nanostructures with arbitrary shapes by focused laser irradiation on topological Dirac semimetal α‐Sn thin films. The irradiated regions transform into atomically smooth, superconducting β‐Sn with a critical temperature of 3.7 K.

Length-scale-dependent phase transition in BSCCO single crystals

open access: yes, 2005
Electrical transport measurements using a multiterminal configuration are presented, which prove that in BSCCO single crystals near the transition temperature in zero external magnetic field the secondary voltage is induced by thermally activated vortex ...

Ultralow‐Frequency Epsilon‐Near‐Zero States in 3D‐Printed High‐Entropy Alloy Metacomposites for Ultra‐Thin Perfect RF Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Rozanov causality limit—a compulsive proportional thickness‐wavelength relationship (nd ∝ λ)—makes it challenging to develop perfect absorption with both thin thickness and low frequency. Herein, a cocktail effect in high‐entropy alloys (HEA) is crucially utilized for lowering plasma frequency to achieve epsilon‐near‐zero states, which finally enables ...

Ultra-Low-Power Superconductor Logic

open access: yes, 2011
We have developed a new superconducting digital technology, Reciprocal Quantum Logic, that uses AC power carried on a transmission line, which also serves as a clock.

Universal Conductance Fluctuations in Quantum Anomalous Hall Insulators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Universal conductance fluctuations are observed in mesoscopic quantum anomalous Hall insulators. Two distinct fluctuation patterns are identified, arising from different interference processes of bulk and chiral edge states, respectively. These findings unveil rich quantum interference phenomena in quantum anomalous Hall insulators and provide insights

Insulation characteristics of polyimide film used in liquid nitrogen of compact HTS transformers

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution
Since compact high temperature superconducting (HTS) transformer has a small size and high efficiency, it can meet the requirements of high‐voltage transformers for vehicle‐mounted mobile substation.

Two stage superconducting quantum interference device amplifier in a high-Q gravitational wave transducer

open access: yes, 2000
We report on the total noise from an inductive motion transducer for a gravitational-wave antenna. The transducer uses a two-stage SQUID amplifier and has a noise temperature of 1.1 mK, of which 0.70 mK is due to back-action noise from the SQUID chip ...
