Superconducting Quantum Magnetometer Based on Flux Focusing Effect for High-Sensitivity Applications [PDF]
A superconducting quantum magnetometer for high-sensitivity applications has been developed by exploiting the flux focusing of the superconducting loop. Unlike conventional dc SQUID magnetometers that use a superconducting flux transformer or a multiloop

Development of an HTS-SQUID-Based Receiver for Long-Range Magnetic Induction Communication in Extreme Environments [PDF]
The communication range of magnetic-induction (MI) technology in extreme environments such as underwater or underground is limited by the dipole-like attenuation behavior of the magnetic field as well as the eddy current induced loss in conductive media,

Superconducting Transformer Design and Construction
This thesis first outlines the testing undertaken on a partial core superconducting transformer under open circuit, short circuit, full load and endurance test conditions. During the endurance test, a failure occurred after 1 minute and 35 seconds. During the failure, voltage dipping and rapid liquid nitrogen boil off was observed.

Development of Improved Superconducting Pulsed Power Supply using Three-Winding Pulsed Power Transformer with Energy Recovery [PDF]
The advantages of superconducting pulsed power supplies (SPPS)-such as higher energy density, extended storage time, low losses, and fewer power requirements for power source charging-have increased in popularity. A prior study presented an improved SPPS

Superconducting transformers: key design aspects for power applications
Conventional power transformers are very simple and reliable electrical components and their efficiency, for large power rating, is well above 99 %. With such an excellent performance the improvement margin seems very limited. However, due to the large amount of power managed and the continuous service, also a small increase in the efficiency is ...

High Temperature Superconducting Partial Core Transformers
The thesis begins by providing an introduction to transformer theory. An ideal transformer is examined first, followed by full core transformer theory. The partial core transformer is then introduced and compared to the full core design. An introduction to superconductors is then presented where a simplified theory of superconductivity is given.
