Non-perturbative computation of the bubble nucleation rate in the cubic anisotropy model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
At first order phase transitions the transition proceeds through droplet nucleation and growth. We discuss a lattice method for calculating the droplet nucleation rate, including the complete dynamical factors.

Tuning Amorphous‐Crystalline Catalytic Interfaces by Mechanochemistry: Cu‐Based Metallic Glasses Coupled with Ceria for CO Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ball‐milling Cu‐based metallic glasses with ceria creates a unique nanostructure where metallic glass particles are wrapped by CeO2 nanoparticles. The intimate integration triggers copper state reorganization during reaction and aging, boosting CO oxidation and COPrOx activity.

A Comparative Study on Early‐Stage Icing Evaluation Techniques for Passive Ice Protection Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study addresses the lack of standardized methodologies for evaluating the early‐stage icing performance of passive ice protection systems. A unified experimental protocol is proposed and applied to representative hydrophilic and hydrophobic surfaces under controlled conditions.

Spinodal decomposition: An alternate mechanism of phase conversion

open access: yes, 2002
The scenario of homogeneous nucleation is investigated for a first order quark-hadron phase transition in a rapidly expanding background of quark gluon plasma. It is found that significant supercooling is possible before hadronization begins.

Field induced magnetic transition and metastability in Co substituted $Mn_{2}Sb$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A detailed investigation of first order ferrimagnetic (FRI) to antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition in Co (15%) doped $Mn_2Sb$ is carried out. These measurements demonstrate anomalous thermomagnetic irreversibility and glass-like frozen FRI phase at low ...

Dynamics of Nanoparticles in a Supercooled Liquid [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2008
The dynamic properties of nanoparticles suspended in a supercooled glass forming liquid are studied by x-ray photon correlation spectroscopy. While at high temperatures the particles undergo Brownian motion the measurements closer to the glass transition indicate hyperdiffusive behavior. In this state the dynamics is independent of the local structural

Dynamical growth of the hadron bubbles during the quark-hadron phase transition

open access: yes, 2000
The rate of dynamical growth of the hadron bubbles in a supercooled baryon free quark-gluon plasma, is evaluated by solving the equations of relativistic fluid dynamics in all regions.
