High-temperature corrosion resistance of nickel-base alloy 617 in supercritical carbon dioxide environment

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
Corrosion behavior of Inconel 617 in supercritical carbon dioxide at 650 °C and 15 MPa for 1000 h was investigated. X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission microscopy, and Raman spectrum were used to observe and analyze the corrosion products ...

Synthesis of Amides and Lactams in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2009
Supercritical carbon dioxide can be employed as an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional organic solvents for the synthesis of a variety of carboxylic amides. The addition of amines to ketenes generated in situ via the retro-ene reaction of alkynyl ethers provides amides in good yield, in many cases with ethylene or isobutylene as the ...

Enhanced Urea Oxidation Reaction by Mn‐Doped Nickel Hydroxide From Wastewater

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Mn incorporation modifies the hydroxide structure and modulates the electronic properties of the Ni centers, promoting the formation of catalytically active NiOOH species. Mn dopants induce a favorable electronic effect but do not directly participate in the UOR mechanism, enhancing the overall urea oxidation rate and resulting in increased hydrogen ...

Solubility of lumiracoxib in supercritical carbon dioxide

open access: yesScientific Reports
AbstractThis study aims to use a static-based solubility method for measuring the solubility of lumiracoxib at a temperature of 308–338 K and pressure of 120–400 bar for the first time. The obtained solubility data for lumiracoxib is between 4.74 × 10−5 and 3.46 × 10−4 (mole fraction) for the studied ranges of pressure and temperature.

Bioactive compounds in insects—Composition, extraction, functionality, food applications, and safety concerns

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes 94 studies (2000–2025) exploring edible insects as sustainable sources of peptides, lipids, and chitin. Utilizing “green” extraction, these bioactives offer antioxidant and antimicrobial benefits for functional foods. However, addressing safety concerns like allergenicity and heavy metals through standardized frameworks remains ...

Lycopene‐rich food biomolecules from tomato processing waste: Green recovery, biopolymer‐based stabilisation, functional food applications and health relevance

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Abstract Tomato processing waste, particularly peel and pomace, is a sustainable and low‐cost source of lycopene‐rich food biomolecules. Lycopene, a lipophilic carotenoid with an extended conjugated structure, provides intense red colour, antioxidant potential and functional value to tomato‐derived ingredients.

Marine Macroalgae as a Safe Healthy Food While Meeting Food Security Challenges Arising From Climate Changes

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Planned harvesting and processing of marine macroalgae could meet future global food needs and mitigate fuel‐originated carbon dioxide responsible for climate change. Microalgal foods are nutritious and safe. The utilization of macroalgae would avoid environmental problems arising from the release of overgrowing macroalgae caused by heatwaves, which ...
