Heat Transfer Prediction for Methane in Regenerative Cooling Channels with Neural Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Methane is considered being a good choice as a propellant for future reusable launch systems. However, the heat transfer prediction for supercritical methane flowing in cooling channels of a regeneratively cooled combustion chamber is challenging. Because accurate heat transfer predictions are essential to design reliable and efficient cooling systems,

Cannabigerol Extraction from a Cannabis Cultivar Using a Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Process

open access: yesChemical Engineering &Technology, EarlyView.
The aim of this work was to assess for the first time the supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) process feasibility to obtain a CBG‐rich extract from Cannabis. Extraction experiments highlighted that CBG can be properly extracted at 18 MPa and 40 °C and the extraction plant scheme affected CBG recovery and purity.

Chiral Cobaltabis(dicarbollide) Catalysts Prepared Using a Silica Helical Nanoplatform for the Enantioselective Photooxidation of Aromatic Secondary Alcohols

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Chiral COSAN Nanocatalysts: Enantiopure silica COSAN‐Hybrid nanohelices have been prepared by electrostatic co‐assembly of achiral COSAN anions and silica hybrid nanohelices. Their optical activity was confirmed by CD and ROA measurements. These COSAN‐Hybrids are efficient and recoverable catalysts in the photooxidative kinetic resolution of aromatic ...

In Situ Raman Analysis of CO\u2082-Assisted Drying of Fruit-Slices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This work explores the feasibility of applying in situ Raman spectroscopy for the online monitoring of the supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO\u2082) drying of fruits. Specifically, we investigate two types of fruits: mango and persimmon.

Development and Validation of a Laboratory‐Scale Methanol Synthesis Mini‐Plant and Digital Twin Simulation

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A methanol mini‐plant and its digital twin were developed to study flexible feedstocks, reactant recycling, and product condensation. Experimental results show good agreement with simulations, allowing systematic investigation of process parameters. Tests with biomass‐derived syngas demonstrated the feasibility of industrial COx sources.

Supercritical Carbon Dioxie; An Efficient Solvent for Herbal Extraction

open access: yesJournal of Medicinal Plants, 2017
Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) is an alternative to liquid extraction using solvents. Supercritical fluids can have solvating powers similar to organic solvents, but with higher diffusivities, lower viscosity, and lower surface tension.

Mathematical Modeling of Supercritical Fluid Extraction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The kinetics of supercritical fluid extraction of valuable substances from plants depends on both extract solubility in the solvent (or phase equilibrium between the matrix and the solvent) and mass transfer resistances, particularly the resistance inside vegetable material.
