Condensation induced oscillations in supersonic expansion flows

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2000
In supersonic expansion flows of humid nitrogen, at relatively low cooling rates, self-sustained oscillations may occur due to the combined effects of nucleation, droplet growth, and latent heat release. Different modes of oscillation are found depending on the initial humidity.

Spectroscopy of tryptophan derivatives in supersonic expansions: Addition of solvent molecules

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1988
The addition of solvent molecules, primarily water and some alcohols, to isolated tryptophan derivative molecules has been carried out using supersonic free jet techniques. The derivatives studied include 3-indole acetic acid, 3-indole propionic acid, N-acetyltryptophan ethyl ester, tryptamine, and tryptophol.

Hot luminescence spectra of quinizarin in a supersonic expansion

Chemical Physics Letters, 1984
Abstract The fluorescence excitation spectrum and fluorescence spectra from 25 different vibrational levels of the S 1 state of 1,4-dihydroxyanthraquinone were measured. From these spectra, the frequencies of non-totally symmetric vibrations in the S 0 state were deduced. Strong mixing of normal coordinates under electronic excitation was observed.

Electron and vibrational kinetics in supersonic nozzle expansion

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2001
Vibrational and electron kinetics, as well as electronic excited states and ionization kinetics, have been coupled self consistently solving master and Boltzmann equation at the same time. These kinetics have been inserted in a quasi one-dimensional code for the high enthalpy nozzle expansion.
