PENETRATION OF A SHOCK WAVE IN A FLAME FRONT [PDF]

open access: yesINCAS Bulletin, 2009
The present paper deals with the interactions between a fully supersonic flame front, situated in a supersonic two-dimensional flow of an ideal homogeneous combustible gas mixture, and an incident shock wawe, which is penetrating in the space of the hot ...

Properties of water and argon clusters developed in supersonic expansions

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2023
Using adiabatic molecular dynamics coupled with the fluid dynamics equations, we model nucleation in an expanding beam of water vapor and argon on a microsecond scale. The size distribution of clusters, their temperature, and pickup cross sections in dependence on velocity are investigated and compared to the geometric cross sections and the experiment.

Aerodynamic Control and Mixing with Ramp Injection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Experiments have been conducted in the GALCIT Supersonic Shear Layer Facility (S3L) to investigate the behaviour of a flow and geometry with many features that are potentially useful for a Supersonic Combustion Ramjet (SCRAMJET) engine - a recirculation ...

Expansion Waves at the Outlet of the Supersonic Two-Phase Flow Nozzle

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2007
Two-phase flow nozzles are used in the total flow system of geothermal power plants and in the ejector of the refrigeration cycle, etc. One of the most important functions of the two-phase flow nozzle is converting two-phase flow thermal energy into ...

Computational and experimental investigation into aerodynamic interference between slender bodies in supersonic flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Aerodynamic interference can occur between high-speed bodies when in close proximity. A complex flowfield develops where shock and expansion waves from a generator body impinge upon the adjacent receiver body and modify its aerodynamic characteristics.

The rotational spectrum of cyclohexyl formate, chemically prepared within a supersonic expansion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The pulsed supersonic jet expansion microwave spectra of the parent and of the CD=O monodeuterated species of cyclohexylformate have been measured in the 6.5–18 GHz range.

Numerical Simulation of Pressure Fluctuation near an Expansion Corner in a Supersonic Flow of M = 3.01

open access: yesFluids, 2021
The influence of the expansion corner on pressure fluctuation is an important subject in supersonic flow around high-speed vehicles. Past studies have clarified how the expansion corner alters the root-mean-square of the fluctuating pressure coefficient (

PENETRATION OF A SHOCK WAVE IN A FULLY SUPERSONIC FLAME FRONT WITH THE FORMATION OF AN EXPANSION FAN [PDF]

open access: yesINCAS Bulletin, 2011
In a previous paper [3] was treated the ,,simple penetration” of an incident shock wavethrough a fully supersonic flame front in the space of the hot burnt gases, situated in a supersonictwo-dimensional flow of an ideal homogeneous /combustible gas was ...

Numerical investigation of transitional supersonic axisymmetric wakes

open access: yes, 2006
Transitional supersonic axisymmetric wakes are investigated by conducting various numerical experiments. The main objective is to identify hydrodynamic instability mechanisms in the flow at M=2.46 for several Reynolds numbers, and relating these to ...

Three-dimensional acoustic energy flow from rotating sound sources

open access: yesActa Acustica, 2021
A detailed study of the three-dimensional sound fields around a monopole point source in subsonic and supersonic rotation is investigated. We calculate the sound pressure, the acoustic velocity, as well as the instantaneous and time-averaged acoustic ...
