SUPPLEMENTARY FEEDING AND JAUNDICE IN NEWBORNS
Acta Paediatrica, 1982ABSTRACT. In a survey it was found that the majority of full‐term breast fed infants receive supplementary feeds of water, dextrose solution or infant formula during the first few days of life. Breast fed babies receiving water or dextrose supplements had higher plasma bilirubins on the sixth day of life than bottle fed infants.

Supplementary feeding in the maternity ward shortens the duration of breast feeding
Acta Paediatrica, 1994In a prospective study, feeding routines of a maternity unit and the subsequent feeding patterns of 521 newborns were analysed. SUPPLEMENTARY FEEDING OF SCHOOL CHILDREN
Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1927Two comparisons of fruit and milk as supplementary lunches for school children have been carried out by this department. These children were all 7 per cent or more underweight according to the Wood standard.
