Weight gain and carcass yield in sheep supplemented with multinutrient blocks in transition period dry-rainy season

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Ciencia Animal Recia, 2016
The aim of this study was to evaluate weight gain and cold carcass yield in sheep supplemented with multinutrient blocks (MNB) fattening phase in the transition period between the dry season and the rainy season.

Redox‐dependent binding and conformational equilibria govern the fluorescence decay of NAD(P)H in living cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this work, we reveal how different enzyme binding configurations influence the fluorescence decay of NAD(P)H in live cells using time‐resolved anisotropy imaging and fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM). Mathematical modelling shows that the redox states of the NAD and NADP pools govern these configurations, shaping their fluorescence ...

Diet and hair loss: effects of nutrient deficiency and supplement use

open access: yesDermatology Practical & Conceptual, 2017
Patients presenting with hair loss should be screened by medical history, dietary history and physical exam for risk factors for nutrient deficiency. If warranted, laboratory studies may be performed.

Neutrophil deficiency increases T cell numbers at the site of tissue injury in mice

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In wild‐type mice, injury or acute inflammation induces neutrophil influx followed by macrophage accumulation. Mcl1ΔMyelo (neutrophil‐deficient) mice lack neutrophils, and in response to muscle injury show fewer macrophages and exhibit strikingly elevated T‐cell numbers, primarily non‐conventional “double‐negative” (DN) αβ and γδ T cells.

Single nucleotide polymorphisms in desaturases genes – effect on docosahexaenoic acid levels in maternal and fetal tissues and early development of the child.

open access: yesJournal of Medical Science, 2017
Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) beneficially affect an optimal fetal growth and development right after birth. This effect is particularly significant for the growth and maturation of brain.

MET variants with activating N‐lobe mutations identified in hereditary papillary renal cell carcinomas still require ligand stimulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MET variants in the N‐lobe of the kinase domain, found in hereditary papillary renal cell carcinoma, require ligand stimulation to promote cell transformation, in contrast to other RTK variants. This suggests that HGF expression in the microenvironment is important for tumor growth in such patients. Their sensitivity to MET inhibitors opens the way for

Taming Supplemental Material [PDF]

open access: yesCell, 2009
As a complement or appendix to the printed article, supplemental material represents a powerful advantage of online publishing, allowing authors to present supporting evidence, such as movies and large data sets, that cannot be included within printed journal pages.
