Review paper on the recent progress in the field of wave modelling in the surf zone. The authors have the following concluding remarks (taken directly from the rapport): Wave breaking provides the forcing for larger scale motions in the surf zone.

Observations of the Surf-Zone Turbulent Dissipation Rate
The contributions of surface (breaking wave) boundary layer (SBL) and bottom (velocity shear) boundary layer (BBL) processes to surf-zone turbulence is studied here.

LOCAL MOVEMENTS OF SAND IN THE SURF ZONE
The fluorescent sand tracers are injected in a point in the surf zone. Core samples are taken from the sixteen points on the circumference with the time intervals of fifteen minutes for about five hours. At the same time, the horizontal two components of fluid velocities are measured at the injection point by using an electromagnetic currentmeter.

Composite Ti–6Al–4V–epoxy lattice structures are additively manufactured and epoxy infiltrated for cyclic loading. At low lattice volume fractions, hybridization produces synergistic gains in stiffness and energy dissipation. At higher volume fractions, synergy diminishes, although composites still exceed metallic lattices in specific energy ...

Hydrodynamics and morphodynamics in the swash zone: hydralab III large-scale experiments
The modelling of swash zone hydrodynamics and sediment transport and the resulting morphodynamics has been an area of very active research over the last decade. However, many details are still to be understood, whose knowledge will be greatly advanced by

Small-scale surf zone geometric roughness [PDF]
Measurements of small-scale (O(mm)) geometric roughness (kϝ) associated with breaking wave foam were obtained within the surf zone on a sandy beach near Monterey, California. The kϝ is described by the vertical standard deviation of the foamy sea surface

DUCK85 Surf Zone Sand Transport Experiment
Source: https://erdc-library.erdc.dren.mil/jspui/The procedures and results of an experiment performed to measure the longshore sand transport rate in the surf zone as part of the DUCK85 field data collection project are described in this report ...

The coastal refraction-diffraction wave propagation model
A mathematical model on linear wave propagation toward shore is chosen and corresponding software is built. The wave transformation outside and inside the surf zone is considered including the diffraction effect.

ON PREDICTING INFRAGRAVITY ENERGY IN THE SURF ZONE
Flow data were obtained in the surf zone across a barred profile during a storm. RMS cross-shore velocities due to waves in the infragravity band (wave periods greater than 20 s) had maxima in excess of 0.5 m/s over the bar crest. For comparison to measured spectra, synthetic spectra of cross-shore flow were computed using measured nearshore profiles ...

From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.
