Fire-protection of wooden structures by modification in a thin surface layer
The mechanism of fire protection of wood by the modification of a thin surface layer with organophosphorus compounds has been studied. The properties of the modified thin surface layer were studied by X-ray spectral analysis, IR spectroscopy and ...

Synthesis of controlled polymeric cross-linked coatings via iniferter polymerisation in the presence of tetraethyl thiuram disulphide chain terminator [PDF]
A “grafting from” approach has been used for controlled deposition of cross- linked polymers by living radical polymerisation. Borosilicate glass was modified with N,N-diethylaminodithiocarbamoylpropyl(trimethoxy)silane, in order to confine the ...

Characterization of Quasi-Static/Dynamic Contact Mechanical Properties of Mo Surface-Modified TC4
By using the double glow plasma surface alloying technique, a Mo surface-modified layer is prepared on Ti6Al4V(TC4). The element concentration and microstructure are characterized with a glow-discharge optical emission spectroscope and a scanning ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

The improvement in the properties of aluminum bronze alloys after nitriding is limited due to the immiscibility of nitrogen atoms with the copper matrix. To address this issue, a Cu-Al intermetallic compound prelayer is used, and the rare earth element Y

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
