Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

Surface groups acting on CAT(−1) spaces

Harmonic map theory is used to show that a convex cocompact surface group action on a CAT(-1) metric space fixes a convex copy of the hyperbolic plane (i.e. the action is Fuchsian) if and only if the Hausdorff dimension of the limit set of the action is equal to 1. This provides another proof of a result of Bonk and Kleiner.

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.
