The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Active mixing by self-propelled Janus sponge Marangoni motors with self-maintaining surface tension gradients. [PDF]

open access: yes
Small scale Marangoni motors, which self-generate motion by inducing surface tension gradients on water interfaces through release of surface-active “fuels”, have recently been proposed as self-powered mixing devices for low volume fluids.

INFLUENCE OF SURFACE ACTIVE AGENTS ON ThO$sub 2$ SLURRIES [PDF]

open access: yes, 1958
An analysis, based on electrical double-layer concepts, of the influence of surface active agents on ThO/sub 2/ slurry properties indicates that under reactor conditions the use of additives to obtain certain slurry properties such as low yield stress ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Hydrodynamics and mass transfer in bubble column: Influence of liquid phase surface tension [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
According to literature, few experiments are performed in organic solvents which are mostly used in commercial gas–liquid reactors. However, it is commonly accepted that data obtained in aqueous solution allow to predict the surface tension effects, and ...

Antifungal Activities of Streptomyces blastmyceticus Strain 12-6 Against Plant Pathogenic Fungi

open access: yesMycobiology, 2019
Streptomyces blastmyceticus strain 12-6 was isolated from a forest soil sample of Cheonan area on the basis of strong antifungal activities against plant pathogenic fungi. Butanol extracts of the cultural filtrates were active against C.

The effect of diluted 1% baby shampoo on biofilm reduction in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ
Background Biofilm has been identified as the contributing factor for refractory chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis (CRSwNP). Nasal douching using baby shampoo was thought to be effective in patients with CRSwNP.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
