Analysis of Surface Crack using Various Crack Growth Models

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Abstract This research focusing on fatigue crack growth experiment and assessments of fatigue crack growth model. Fatigue has been considered as the most important phenomena in the engineering problems. It has been found to occur in every engineering field. Many methods were introduced to overcome fatigue problem.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Fracture energy of gels

open access: yes, 2000
To clarify effects of crack speed and cross-link density on fracture energy of acrylamide gels, we evaluated the roughness of the fracture surface and measured the fracture energy taking into account the roughness.

Fracture toughness of a zirconia engineering ceramic and the effects thereon of surface processing with fibre laser radiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Vickers hardness indentation tests were employed to investigate the near-surface changes in the hardness of a fibre laser-treated and an as-received ZrO2 engineering ceramic.

Water diffusion in cracked surface layers : Unloaded cracks

open access: yes, 2019
Water diffusion at the surface of a silica glass is increased when surface cracks are present which were inadvertently introduced by the surface treatment of samples. Due to the larger true surface exposed to the humid environment, an apparently increased diffusion constant must occur.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Estimating the Depths of Normal Surface Notches Using Mode-Conversion Waves at the Bottom Tip

open access: yesSensors
In this work, a two-parameter inversion problem is analyzed, related to surface crack widths for measuring depths of normal surface notches, based on a laser-based ultrasonic measurement method in the time domain.

Elastic-plastic analysis near the crack surface region on a mode III crack under a pair of point forces

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
The crack line analysis method is used to obtain the near-crack-surface stress field of a mode III crack loaded by a pair of anti-plane point forces in an elastic-perfectly plastic material, which expands the research method from the crack line region to

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox
