Regression Modeling of Surface Roughness in Grinding

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Research, 2011
Grinding is a widely used manufacturing method in state of art industry. By realizing needs of manufacturers, grinding parameters must be carefully selected in order to maintain an optimum point for sustainable process. Surface roughness is generally accepted as an important indicator for grinding parameters.

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Understanding the Stochastic Nature of Process Parameter Development of Blown Powder Laser Beam Directed Energy Deposition Additive Manufacturing of Pure Molybdenum

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Introduction of Surface grinding equipment [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2015 6th International Conference on Manufacturing Science and Engineering, 2015
With the continuous development of industrial technology, and some parts due to the need of the function and appearance etc, designed to special-shaped surface. Special-shaped parts refers to its characteristics different from general characteristics of the parts, and with two or more general feature of irregular parts.

Creep Properties and Deformation Mechanism of Additively Manufactured NiAl‐CrMo Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additively manufactured NiAl‐CrMo composites contain numerous interfaces and cell boundaries that control their creep response. At 700°C under high applied stress, creep is dominated by dislocation‐controlled power‐law mechanisms. At 800°C–900°C and lower stresses, creep is primarily diffusion‐controlled along cell boundaries.
