TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

The Design and Simulation of High Impedance Surface in Airborne Telemetry Antenna

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences, 2017
Aiming to the problems that excessive reduction of airborne telemetry antenna’s size will cause a sharp deterioration of the antenna’s bandwidth and gain, this paper proposed that using a high-impedance surface in the airborne telemetry antenna.

Amplification and Increased Duration of Earthquake Motion on Uneven Stress-Free Ground

open access: yes, 2006
When a flat stress-free surface (i.e., the ground in seismological applications) separating air from a isotropic, homogeneous or horizontally-layered, solid substratum is solicited by a SH plane body wave incident in the substratum, the response in the ...

Two-parameter boundary condition applied to transverse acoustic impedance of a Fermi liquid

open access: yes, 2017
We discuss surface scattering in terms of bidirectional reflectance distribution function. We formulate a boundary condition that in addition to diffuse and specular reflection has tilted diffuse reflection.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Thermal correction to the Casimir force, radiative heat transfer, and an experiment

open access: yes, 2007
The low-temperature asymptotic expressions for the Casimir interaction between two real metals described by Leontovich surface impedance are obtained in the framework of thermal quantum field theory.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Finite difference time domain implementation of surface impedance boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yes
Surface impedance boundary conditions are employed to reduce the solution volume during the analysis of scattering from lossy dielectric objects. In a finite difference solution, they also can be utilized to avoid using small cells, made necessary by ...

Microwave conductivity and superfluid density in strongly overdoped Tl2201

open access: yes, 2013
We present measurements of the microwave surface impedance of the single-layer cuprate Tl2201, deep in the overdoped regime, with Tc ~ 25 K. Measurements have been made using cavity perturbation of a dielectric resonator at 17 discrete frequencies ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
