Wideband finite difference time domain implementation of surface impedance boundary conditions for good conductors [PDF]
Surface impedance boundary conditions are used to reduce the solution volume during the analysis of scattering from lossy dielectric objects. In a finite difference solution, they also can be used to avoid using small cells, made necessary by shorter ...

Investigation of sound propagation in a duct with a mean temperature gradient [PDF]
This paper presents an analytical and numerical investigation of an impedance tube in the presence of a mean temperature gradient. Full Navier-Stokes simulation of the acoustic wave propagations through an impedance tube in the presence of a mean ...

Impedance of a sphere oscillating in an elastic medium with and without slip
The dynamic impedance of a sphere oscillating in an elastic medium is considered. Oestreicher's formula for the impedance of a sphere bonded to the surrounding medium can be expressed simply in terms of three lumped impedances associated with the ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

In practical conditions, near-field acoustic holography (NAH) requires the measurement environment to be a free sound field. If vibrating objects are located above the reflective ground, the sound field becomes non-free in the presence of a reflecting ...

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Influence of Source Propagation Direction and Shear Flow Profile in Impedance Eduction of Acoustic Liners [PDF]
The acoustic impedance of liners is a key parameter for their design, and depends on the flow conditions, i.e., the sound pressure level and the presence of a grazing flow. The surface impedance of a locally reacting liner is defined as a local intrinsic

Surface Structural Disordering in Graphite upon Lithium Intercalation/Deintercalation
We report on the origin of the surface structural disordering in graphite anodes induced by lithium intercalation and deintercalation processes. Average Raman spectra of graphitic anodes reveal that cycling at potentials that correspond to low lithium ...
