Mechanical strength of ground WC-Co cemented carbides after coating deposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Manufacturing of hardmetal tools often involves surface grinding, ion etching and final coating. Each stage throughout the manufacturing chain introduces surface integrity changes which may be critical for defining the final mechanical behavior of the ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Modeling and experimental research on rough tooth surface contact fatigue calculation considering hardness gradient and residual stress

open access: yesFriction
Surface integrity parameters such as surface topography, hardness gradient, and residual stress have significant impacts on contact fatigue of tooth surface.

Optimization of hot press forging parameters in direct recycling of aluminium chip (AA 6061) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This study introduces a new approach of direct recycling using the hot press forging process that eliminates the two intermediate processes of cold-compact and pre-heating. This method leads to low energy consumption without intervening the metallurgical

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Integrable Curves and Surfaces

open access: yesGeometry, Integrability and Quantization, 2016
The surfaces in three dimensional Euclidean space ${\mathbb R}^3$ obtained through the use of the soliton techniques are called integrable surfaces. Integrable equations and their Lax equations possess certain symmetries. Infinitesimal versions of these symmetries are deformations which are responsible in constructing the integrable surfaces. There are

Factors Affecting Plunge Grinding Force [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Grinding force has a close relation to grinding inputs such as grinding wheel, work material, interference condition, grinding speed, grinding fluid and machine condition, and therefore varies widely with grinding inputs.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

The influence of surface treatment of PVD coating on its quality and wear resistant [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The article deals with a determination of the influence of a cutting edge preparation on the quality and wear resistance of coated cutting tools. Cutting inserts made from a sintered carbide with a deposited layer of PVD coating were selected for ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
