Using microwaves to map global ocean surface currents [PDF]
Sailors and scientists have been charting ocean currents for centuries, yet even today, reliable, up‐to‐date maps of global surface currents for navigation or other operational uses are scarce.

Theoretical monochromatic-wave-induced currents in intermediate water with viscosity and nonzero mass transport [PDF]
Wave-induced mass-transport current theories with both zero and nonzero net mass (or volume) transport of the water column are reviewed. A relationship based on the Longuet-Higgens theory is derived for wave-induced, nonzero mass-transport currents in ...

A hierarchically porous AOPIM‐CNT electrode enables uranium harvesting from seawater via adsorption‐promoted electrodeposition. Rapid diffusion and selective adsorption are coupled with electrochemical crystallization and spontaneous detachment, creating a self‐refreshing process that sustains high‐capacity, continuous extraction from ultradilute ...

Ocean Satellite Data Fusion for High-Resolution Surface Current Maps
Real-time reconstruction of ocean surface currents is a challenge due to the complex, non-linear dynamics of the ocean, the small number of in situ measurements, and the spatio-temporal heterogeneity of satellite altimetry observations.

Bismuth nanosheets integrated with nitrogen‐doped carbon nanoleaves are constructed via a 2D‐on‐2D heterointerface engineering strategy. The resulting BiNS/NCL electrode delivers high chloride adsorption capacity, fast kinetics, and stable cyclability. A built‐in electric field at the heterointerface promotes chloride electrosorption and stabilizes the

Silicon hot‐carrier photodetectors offer a CMOS‐compatible pathway for SWIR detection but suffer from intrinsically low quantum efficiency. Here, we introduce a quasi‐generalized antireflection coating (QARC) that universally enhances optical absorption and quantum efficiency, enabling the first CMOS‐compatible SWIR imaging with silicon hot‐carrier ...

Ocean surface currents reconstruction from microwave radiometers measurements
Ocean currents are a key component to understanding many oceanic and climatic phenomena and knowledge of them is crucial for both navigation and operational applications. Therefore, a key problem in oceanography is the estimation of the synoptic velocity field.

Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.

A new airborne system for simultaneous high-resolution ocean vector current and wind mapping: first demonstration of the SeaSTAR mission concept in the macrotidal Iroise Sea [PDF]
Coastal seas, shelf seas and marginal ice zones are dominated by small-scale ocean surface dynamic processes that play a vital role in the transport and exchange of climate-relevant properties such as carbon, heat, water and nutrients between land, ocean,
