Surface waves in non-homogeneous, general magnetothermo, viscoelastic media of higher order
The aim of the present paper is to investigate surface waves in a non-homogeneous, isotropic, visco-elastic solid medium of n-th order including the time rate of strain.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Controllable transmission and total reflection through an impedance-matched acoustic metasurface
A general design paradigm for a novel type of acoustic metasurface is proposed by introducing periodically repeated supercells on a rigid thin plate, where each supercell contains multiple cut-through slits that are filled with materials possessing ...

Irregularity of Quintic Surfaces of General Type
In this paper we prove the following theorem. Let \(X\) be a normal quintic surface in \(\mathbb{P}^3\) and let \(\widetilde X\) be a resolution of \(X\). If \(\widetilde X\) is of general type, then its irregularity vanishes. This result was proved also by \textit{J.-G. Yang} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc.

Surfaces of Albanese general type and the Severi conjecture [PDF]
AbstractIn 1932, F. Severi claimed, with an incorrect proof, that every smooth minimal projective surface S of irregularity q = q(S) > 0 without irrational pencils of genus q satisfies the topological inequality 2c21 (S) ≥ c2(S).According to the Enriques‐Kodaira's classification, the above inequality is easily verified when the Kodaira dimension of ...

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.
