Adhesion to coral surface as a potential sink for marine microplastics.
Environmental Pollution, 2019Only 1% of plastic entering the ocean is found floating on its surface, with high loads in ocean accumulation zones and semi-enclosed seas, except for the Red Sea, which supports one of the lowest floating plastic loads worldwide.

Potential Surfaces for Chemisorption on Semiconductor Surfaces from Pair Potential Considerations
physica status solidi (b), 1989AbstractA pair potential method, recently proposed by Tersoff, is extended in order to treat chemisorption problems on semiconductor surfaces. The modified version is tested for chemisorption of atomic hydrogen and oxygen on Si(100)‐surface. The calculated data are compared with experiments and ab‐initio results.

Properties of potential energy surfaces are integral to understanding the dynamics of unimolecular reactions. As discussed in chapter 2, the concept of a potential energy surface arises from the Born-Oppenheimer approximation, which separates electronic motion from vibrational/rotational motion.

This chapter discusses potential energy surfaces, that is, the electronic energy as a function of the internuclear coordinates as obtained from the electronic Schrödinger equation. It focuses on the general topology of such energy surfaces for unimolecular and bimolecular reactions.

The Surface Potential of Cellulose
Trans. of the VIIIth Fund. Res. Symp. Oxford, 1985, 1985Charge/pH isotherms were determined for various cellulose fibres: cotton linters, bleached sulphate, and unbleached sulphate pulp. The chare was determined as a function of pH in 1.0, 10⁻¹, 10⁻², and 10⁻³ mol dm⁻³ NaCl. The effect of various cations on the charge was also investigated.
