Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Comparison of Surface Roughness of Class V Cavity Preparation using Diamond Abrasive Point and Ultrasonic Tip and Measurement of Shear Bond Strength after Restoration with Composite Resin: An In-vitro Study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research
Introduction: Non Carious Cervical Lesions (NCCLs) represent a prevalent dental condition characterised by the erosion of tooth structure at the cementoenamel junction without the involvement of dental caries.

Plasmonic Surface Lattice Resonances: A Review of Properties and Applications

open access: yesChemical Reviews, 2018
When metal nanoparticles are arranged in an ordered array, they may scatter light to produce diffracted waves. If one of the diffracted waves then propagates in the plane of the array, it may couple the localized plasmon resonances associated with ...

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

The effect of cool paints and surface properties of the facade on the thermal and energy efficiency of buildings in a hot and arid climate

open access: yesJournal of Materials and Engineering Structures, 2019
The facade of a building is a decisive factor in the thermal and energy performance of buildings. Its surfaces are considered as zones of heat transfer between the inside and the outside.

Synthesis and Properties of Novel Acrylic Fluorinated Surfactants

open access: yesSurfaces
Branched fluorinated surfactants with creatively introduced acrylate in the hydrophilic group were designed and prepared by adopting perfluoro-2-methyl-2-pentene as the raw substrate.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.
