Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Robust estimation of tear film surface quality in lateral shearing interferometry

open access: yes, 2009
Interferometry is a sensitive technique for recording tear\ud film surface irregularities in a noninvasive manner. At the same time, the technique is hindered by natural eye movements resulting in measurement noise.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Influences of surface quality on the rolling contact fatique behaviour of ceramics

open access: yes
A novel eccentric lapping machine was designed by the author and manufactured in-house, to serve as a test bench to investigate the finishing process parameters in relation to surface quality, as well as the feasibility of accelerating the finishing ...

Variability and uncertainty in measuring sea surface temperature

open access: yes, 2012
Sea Surface Temperature (SST) measurement is one of the most easily obtainable climate variables. However, it is challenging to meet the required absolute accuracy and long term stability whether the data are derived by in situ or satellite measurements.

Fiber Laser Cutting of AISI 431 Martensitic Stainless Steel: An Experimental Investigation

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
This work explores the fiber laser cutting of AISI 431 martensitic steel using an optimized technique of RSM-BBD. A significant increase in gas pressure, power, and cutting speed improved material removal by 62.4%.
