Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Numerical investigation of stability and settlement of tunnels in undrained clay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This thesis describes the development, verification and use of a numerical model for investigating circular tunnels in cohesive soils. Using this model, important problems relating to tunnel construction can be studied.

Induction of larval settlement in the polychaete Hydroides elegans by surface-associated settlement cues of marine benthic diatoms

open access: yes, 2003
Larval settlement in the polychaete Hydroides elegans is mediated by marine biofilms, which are complex agglomerates of bacteria, diatoms, fungi and protozoa. The induction of H.

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

The behaviour of modern flexible framed structures undergoing differential settlement

open access: yes, 2010
Modern office buildings are often open plan buildings with a frame consisting of flat RC slabs, RC columns and non-load bearing internal and external partitions and facades.

Ground compaction due to vibrodriving of piles [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Civil engineering construction frequently requires the use of piles to carry structural loads to stronger ground strata or to control lateral ground movements. A variety of techniques are available to install piles into the ground. Of central interest to

Larval settlement: the role of surface topography for sessile coral reef invertebrates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
For sessile marine invertebrates with complex life cycles, habitat choice is directed by the larval phase. Defining which habitat-linked cues are implicated in sessile invertebrate larval settlement has largely concentrated on chemical cues which are ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...
