Prediction of maximum surface settlement caused by earth pressure balance (EPB) shield tunneling with ANN methods

open access: yesSoils and Foundations, 2019
In order to determine the appropriate model for predicting the maximum surface settlement caused by EPB shield tunneling, three artificial neural network (ANN) methods, back-propagation (BP) neural network, the radial basis function (RBF) neural network,

Marton, north Lincolnshire: a Romano-British settlement in its context [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
This thesis seeks to reconstruct and interpret the form and extent of the Romano- British settlement at Marton, North Lincolnshire. The site at Marton has previously been the subject of no formal programme of archaeological research.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Effect of surface interactions on the settlement of particles on a sinusoidally corrugated substrate

open access: yesRSC Advances, 2020
The interplay among the surface modulus, geometry, and interactions between the surface and the particle governs particle settlement on sinusoidally-corrugated substrates.

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Surface settlement characteristics of adjacent building groups during excavation

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
To clarify the surface settlement characteristics induced by pile foundation building groups and to obtain the surface settlement profiles in the areas outside the foundation pit under their influence, this study employs the PLAXIS 3D finite element ...

Prediction formula for surface settlement in double-line tunnel based on trapdoor tests

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2017
The disturbance caused by the excavation of urban tunnels is inevitable. In order to investigate the mutual influence of a double-line tunnel and the reliable method for prediction of ground surface subsidence, a multi-trapdoor model test setup and ...

Settlement analyses of underground circular tunneling in soft clay

open access: yes, 2014
An increasing number of tunnels have been constructed worldwide due to urbanization and industrial purposes. In the past few decades, tunnel boring machines (TBM) have been used to drill in increasingly difficult geotechnical conditions such as soft ...
