Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Surface settlement modelling using neural network 1
Ground movement control during tunnelling in urban areas has always been a key concern, as geotechnical engineers strive to minimize any disturbance to nearby buildings and services. Previous studies concerning surface settlement were conducted based on

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Surface Enhancement of Titanium-Based Coatings on Commercial Hard Steel Cutting Tools
This study investigates the mechanical properties, surface integrity, and chemical configuration of PVD-coated high-speed steel (HSS) cutting tools, with a particular focus on titanium nitride (TiN) and titanium aluminium nitride (TiAlN) coatings.

The effect of suction on ground surface settlement for a tunnel [PDF]
This paper addresses the physical modelling of a tunnel for saturated and unsaturated sand as well as tests in dry condition. A series of tests were conducted for a 50 mm diameter tunnel buried 25 mm into a poorly graded fine sand under different normal stresses: 0.78, 1.56, 2.34 and 3.31 kPa.

Maximum surface settlement prediction in EPB TBM tunneling using soft computing techniques
Earth pressure balance (EPB) TBMs are commonly used for soft ground tunneling in urban areas. In metro tunnels’ excavation, designing a comprehensive monitoring system to control surface settlement is essential to prevent damage to surface structures ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...
