Surface Tension Matthew Buckingham, Nina Canell & Robin Watkins, Youngmi Chun, Kelly Jazvac, Sreshta Rit Premnath, Jimmy Robert, Mark Soo

open access: yes, 2013
Over the past decade, digital media has transformed how we take pictures, how existing images circulate in the world and how histories are written. While many artists have questioned where to locate images in our contemporary context, their ongoing ...

Surface Crack Shape Evolution Modelling using an RMS SIF approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The majority of fatigue cracks in thick plate and tubular sections in structural components are two-dimensional surface cracks having significant propagation lives before becoming critical.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Size-dependent surface tension of a cylindrical nanobubble in liquid Ar

open access: yes, 2012
In view of the continued disputes on the fundamental question of whether the surface tension of a vapour bubble in liquid argon increases, or decreases, or remains unchanged with the increase of curvature radius, a cylindrical vapour bubble of argon is ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Systematic Optimization of Water Models Using Liquid/Vapor Surface Tension Data

open access: yes, 2019
In this work we investigate whether experimental surface tension measurements, which are less sensitive to quantum and self-polarization corrections, are able to replace the usual reliance on the heat of vaporization as experimental ...

On using the leveling of the free surface of a Newtonian fluid to measure viscosity and Navier slip length [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Version éditeur : http://rspa.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/469/2160/20130457.shortMeasuring the relaxation time involved in the leveling of the free surface of a Newtonian fluid laid on a substrate can give access to material parameters.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.
