Enabling Digital Continuity in Virtual Manufacturing for Eco‐Efficiency Assessment of Lightweight Structures by Means of a Domain‐Specific Structural Mechanics Language: Requirements, Idea and Proof of Concept

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a solver‐agnostic domain‐specific language (DSL) for computational structural mechanics that strengthens interoperability in virtual product development. Using a hierarchical data model, the DSL enables seamless exchange between diverse simulation tools and numerical methods.

Hybrid Auxetic Architectures: Integrating Curvature‐Driven Design for Enhanced Mechanical Tunability and Structural Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Curvature‐tuned auxetic lattices are designed, fabricated, and mechanically characterized to reveal how geometric curvature governs stretchability, stress redistribution, and Poisson's ratio evolution. Photoelastic experiments visualize stress pathways, while hyperelastic simulations quantify deformation mechanics.

Water surface topology of supercritical junction flow

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology and Hydromechanics, 2019
The complexity of flow conditions at junctions amplifies significantly with supercritical flow. It is a pronounced three-dimensional two-phased flow phenomenon, where standing waves with non-stationary water surface are formed.

Multimodal Mechanical Testing of Additively Manufactured Ti6Al4V Lattice Structures: Compression, Bending, and Fatigue

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

Partial proteolysis improves the identification of the extracellular segments of transmembrane proteins by surface biotinylation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
Transmembrane proteins (TMP) play a crucial role in several physiological processes. Despite their importance and diversity, only a few TMP structures have been determined by high-resolution protein structure characterization methods so far.

Magnetic surface topology in decaying plasma knots

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2017
Torus-knot solitons have recently been formulated as solutions to the ideal incompressible magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations. We investigate numerically how these fields evolve in resistive, compressible, and viscous MHD. We find that certain decaying

On the profinite rigidity of surface groups and surface words

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique, 2021
Surface groups are determined among limit groups by their profinite completions. As a corollary, the set of surface words in a free group is closed in the profinite topology.
