Towards Automatic Design of Reflective Optical Systems
Traditional optical design processes can only obtain a few design solutions after a time‐consuming trial‐and‐error process. During this process, how to select the numbers and sequence of surfaces of different types (spherical, aspherical, and freeform ...

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

On dominant rational maps from products of curves to surfaces of general type
In this paper, we investigate the existence of generically finite dominant rational maps from products of curves to surfaces of general type. We prove that the product C×D of two distinct very general curves of genus g>6 and g'>1 does not admit dominant ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Examples of Mori dream surfaces of general type with p g = 0
In this paper we study effective, nef and semiample cones of minimal surfaces of general type with p g =0. We provide examples of minimal surfaces of general type with p g =0 and 2≤K 2 ≤9 which are Mori dream spaces.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Study on the fabrication of titanium surface texture by nanosecond laser and its wettability
Laser processing technology can produce various types of surface textures on material. In order to investigate the effect of surface texture type processed by laser on the wettability, line, grid and spot patterns are fabricated on titanium surface based

Exopolysaccharide-independent social motility of Myxococcus xanthus. [PDF]
Social motility (S motility), the coordinated movement of large cell groups on agar surfaces, of Myxococcus xanthus requires type IV pili (TFP) and exopolysaccharides (EPS).
