Intelligent Classification of Surrounding Rock of Tunnel Based on 10 Machine Learning Algorithms

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The quality evaluation of the surrounding rock is the cornerstone of tunnel design and construction. Previous studies have confirmed the existence of a relationship between drilling parameters and the quality of surrounding rock.

Electrostatic Superlattices Beyond 1:1 Stoichiometry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer‐mediated charge regulation drives two hierarchical routes to higher‐stoichiometry nanoparticle superlattices. Tuning the polymer's molecular weight promotes progressive interstitial filling, transforming ZnS into the fully occupied CaF2${\rm CaF}_2$ lattice. Exchanging polymer assignment between large and small nanoparticles instead breaks CsCl

Catastrophe Information Characteristics and Prevention Measures of Water Inrush in Tunnel Approaching Fault with Different Water Pressure

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In order to ensure the safety of the tunnel approaching the fault and prevent water inrush disasters, and then take reasonable protective measures, a fault-tunnel-surrounding rock is established by using a three-dimensional (3D) discrete element ...

Domain Engineering and Anisotropic Domain‐Wall Photovoltaic Effects in Ferroelectric SnS

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The bulk photovoltaic effect at domain walls in the in‐plane ferroelectric 2D semiconductor SnS is investigated using periodic domain structures. Unlike conventional oxide ferroelectrics, domain walls of SnS do not contribute to photocurrent generation perpendicular to the domain walls.

Research on collaborative control technology of “unloading and support balance” for surrounding rock of isolated roadway under the influence of dynamic pressure

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
During the mining process of deep coal mining faces, they are often affected by strong mining dynamic pressure, resulting in strong mining pressure and significant deformation and damage of the surrounding rock of the roadway.

Numerical Simulation on Large Deformation of Weak Rock Mass Tunnel Under High Geostress

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The problem about the stability of tunnel surrounding rock is always an important research object of geotechnical engineering, and the right or wrong of the result from stability analysis on surrounding rock is related to success or failure of an ...

Chitin‐Derived Carbon‐Metal Functional Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Functional carbon materials are synthesized from combination of biopolymer (chitin) and iron precursors. The resultant material exhibits superior surface area and adsorptive properties compared to carbon materials synthesized directly from pure chitin.

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Cellular Responses to Mechanical Cues Across Scales: From Fundamental Insights to Translational Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...
