Robust Energy Management for Green and Survivable IP Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Despite the growing necessity to make Internet greener, it is worth pointing out that energy-aware strategies to minimize network energy consumption must not undermine the normal network operation.

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Survivability Protection in TWDM Optical Access Network with Dynamic Wavelength Scheduling

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2015
It is a key technical problem to locate failure correctly and perform protection switching for strong survivability in time and wavelength division multiplexing(TWDM)optical access network with dynamic wavelength scheduling. To solve the above problem, a

Effect of different stocking densities on growth performance, feed utilization, and survival of Labeo angra (Hamilton) fry in aquaria

open access: yesFisheries & Aquatic Life
This study was conducted to assess the effect of stocking density on the growth performance, feed utilization, and survival of Labeo angra (Hamilton) in nine glass aquaria each containing 30 l of water for 45 days. Three different stocking densities of 1,

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

An Algorithm for Identifying the Possibilities of Cascading Failure Processes and Their Development Trajectories in Electric Power Systems

open access: yesAlgorithms
Every year, electric power systems (EPSs) experience accidents resulting in static and dynamic instability, as well as power supply disruptions. Accidents evolve along various trajectories and sometimes can exhibit a cascading effect.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).
