Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

Translophagy—A potential link between autophagy impairment and translational errors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neurodegenerative diseases are characterised by the accumulation of abnormal proteins and protein aggregates, but their origin often remains unknown. We propose that selective autophagy removes damaged protein‐making machinery, preventing errors during protein synthesis.

Toxicant early-life exposure: A mini review of the comprehensive LC-MS/MS analysis of xenobiotics in breast milk samples

open access: yesTạp chí Kiểm nghiệm và An toàn thực phẩm
The analysis of xenobiotics in breast milk is crucial for understanding the impact of early-life exposure on infant health. This mini-review highlights some recent advancements in mass spectrometry, focusing on SCIEX MS systems, to detect and quantify a ...

‘Guide and Prejudice’— How Argonautes recognize targets across domains of life

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Argonaute proteins use short nucleic‐acid guides to locate and regulate specific targets across all domains of life. Despite striking diversity—from human gene silencing to bacterial immune defence—all Argonautes share a conserved three‐stage recognition logic: guide‐directed sampling, progressive target pairing with a conformational checkpoint and ...

Identification of Emerging Organic Pollutants in Aquatic Environments Under the Omics-Based Framework: A Review

open access: yesMolecules
Emerging organic pollutants (EOPs) in aquatic environments have attracted increasing attention because many occur at trace levels, undergo transformation during environmental transport, and contribute to poorly resolved mixture risks.

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.
