Do corporate headquarters play a role in mandatory versus voluntary financials distress driven trading suspensions?

open access: yes, 2011
Motivated by previous researchers’ conclusion that management of financially distressed firms extends considerableefforts to avoid exchange delisting and trading suspension, we formulate a methodology to incorporate managerial effortsand corporate ...

Transport and deposition behaviour of model slurries in closed pipe flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Suspensions of solid particles are ubiquitous in nature and industry. From subaqueous and aeolian dunes and ripples to plug flow in the minerals engineering industry, the complexity of the fluid dynamics and interparticle interactions in multiphase flow

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Stability Assessment of Furosemide Oral Suspension in Hospital Extemporaneous Preparations

open access: yesPharmaceuticals
Background: Furosemide is a loop diuretic used extensively to treat adult and pediatric patients. In some hospitals, furosemide oral liquids are not available in stock, thus necessitating the extemporaneous preparation of the drug.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Embedding suspensions into hyperspace suspensions

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2013
For a metric continuum \(X\) let \(C(X)\) denote the hyperspace of subcontinua of \(X\) with the Hausdorff metric and let \(F_{1}(X)\) denote the subset of \(C(X)\) consisting of all singletons of \(X\). The hyperspace suspension \(HS(X)\) is the quotient space \(C(X)/F_{1}(X)\). In this paper the authors study the class \(\mathcal{L}\) of continua \(X\

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Caracterización y preparación de ceniza volante para su uso como recubrimientos cerámicos sobre substratos metálicos

open access: yesBoletín de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio, 2008
Fly ash samples were characterized by atomic absorption, plasma spectroscopy, DTA/TGA, SEM/EDS, XRD and laser diffraction in order to obtain fly ash coatings on stainless steel substrates by electrophoretic deposition.

Deposit Insurance and the Composition of Bank Suspensions in Developing Economies: Lessons from the State Deposit Insurance Experiments of the 1920S [PDF]

open access: yes
Eight states established deposit insurance systems between 1908 and 1917. All abandoned the systems between 1921 and 1930. Scholars debate the costs and benefits of these policy experiments.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.
