Vibration Analysis of the Load on Helicopter Swashplate Rod
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012The swashplate rod is a key component of helicopter control system. The vibration environment of helicopter is quite complex. The natural frequency of the swashplate rod is generally low. So resonance occurs easily. Resonance could reduce control precision or even damage the whole control system. Established dynamic and mathematical model of swashplate

The Kinematics of the Swashplate Mechanism of a VTOL Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
Multibody System Dynamics, 1999The dynamics of the swashplate mechanism of the CL-327, anUnmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) with a Vertical Take-Off-and-Landing(VTOL) ability is discussed in this paper, the underlying kinematicshaving been discussed in an earlier paper. The CL-327 (Guardian)is currently under production by Bombardier Services-Defence, and isconsidered the world's most ...

Lubrication characteristics of the worn slipper in the slipper-swashplate pair
Industrial Lubrication and Tribology, 2021Purpose This paper proposes the lubrication characteristics of the worn slipper in the slipper–swashplate pair. The mathematical analysis of lubrication characteristics of slipper with the measured surface roughness distribution is introduced.

A fault-tolerant approach to helicopter swashplate control
Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 1985A novel method for controlling the orientation of a helicopter swashplate is developed from basic principles and evaluated by simulation. The method applies to rise-and-fall swashplates which are controlled by redundant actuators for the purpose of achieving survivability and fault-tolerance.

Inverse dynamic modeling and analysis of a coaxial helicopter’s swashplate mechanism
Mechanism and Machine Theory, 2017Abstract In this paper, the application of the principle of virtual work to the inverse dynamic modelling of a coaxial helicopter’s swashplate mechanism is discussed. The swashplate mechanism is always designed as a configuration of multi closed-loop kinematic chains which dynamics is difficult to be analyzed, especially for coaxial layout.

This thesis investigates the effects of swashplate vibration and slipper surface geometry on the performance of the slipper-swashplate interface. The lubricating interfaces within a swashplate type axial piston machine are the most complicated part of the design process.

Feature Selection for Helicopter Swashplate Bearing Fault Diagnosis
Volume 3: Manufacturing Equipment and Systems, 2017This paper provides a case study of diagnosing helicopter swashplate ball bearing faults using vibration signals. We develop and apply feature extraction and selection techniques in the time, frequency, and joint time-frequency domains to differentiate six types of swashplate bearing conditions: low-time, to-be-overhauled, corroded, cage-popping ...

A Miniature Swashplate Water Pump for Powered Prostheses
Engineering in Medicine, 1980A miniature swashplate pump is described with a unique performance, as far as the authors are aware, delivering 1.5 ml/s of water at a pressure of 34 bar; the complete motor, gearbox and pump assembly weighing 315 gm and measuring 42 mm diameter by 108 mm long.

Dynamic Analysis of an Axial Piston Pump Swashplate Control
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Mechanical Engineering Science, 1986A mathematical model of an axial piston pump is described which consists of a second-order differential equation of the swashplate motion and two first-order equations describing the flow continuity into the pump discharge chamber and into the swashplate control actuator.

A shape memory effect swashplate heat engine
Materials Letters, 1988Abstract A novel heat engine based on the shape memory effect (SME) of helical NiTi wire and utilising the swashplate geometry is described. Measurements of engine power cycled through 12°C and 80°C water baths were as high as 3 W/kg, which compare favourably with more complex SME heat engines designs.
