Effects of obesity‐associated plasma markers on adipose stem cell function and epigenetic regulation

open access: yesObesity, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This study investigates the correlations between obesity‐related plasma markers and epigenetic/inflammatory changes in white adipose tissue (WAT), focusing on adipose‐derived stem cells (ASCs). We hypothesize that obesity modulates histone H3K27 marks, modified by demethylases (lysine‐specific demethylase 6A and 6B [KDM6A/KDM6B]) and

Nephroprotective Effects of Fraxinus Hookeri Wenz. Against Renal Toxicity and DNA Oxidative Damages Induced by CCl4 in Rats

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
This study evaluates the nephroprotective potential of Fraxinus hookeri Wenz. (F. hookeri), a medicinal plant of the Oleaceae family, against CCl4‐induced oxidative stress. The findings demonstrate its ability to restore antioxidant defenses, renal function markers, and DNA integrity while reducing lipid peroxidation and histopathological damage.

SWAT: A System for Detecting Salient Wikipedia Entities in Texts [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Intelligence, Wiley-Blackwell Publishing (2019), 2018
We study the problem of entity salience by proposing the design and implementation of SWAT, a system that identifies the salient Wikipedia entities occurring in an input document. SWAT consists of several modules that are able to detect and classify on-the-fly Wikipedia entities as salient or not, based on a large number of syntactic, semantic and ...
