Theoretical Study on Falling Film Absorption Inside Swaying Tube With TFE/NMP Solution
According to the characteristics of the falling film absorption in the absorbers employed on boats, a physical and mathematical model of momentum, heat and mass transfer of falling film absorption in a swaying tube with TFE/NMP solution was established ...

Increasing the Incentive to Serve: The Effects of a Juror Pay Increase in Texas
ABSTRACT Although low juror pay is commonly offered as a reason why jurors do not show up to jury service, there is remarkably little empirical information on how juror pay affects summons response. This study examines four large‐sized counties in Texas before and after pay increased from as little as $6 a day to $40, analyzing patterns of the percent ...

Acoustic‐driven surface cleaning with millimeter‐sized bubbles at translational resonance
Time‐lapse visualization comparing bubble trajectories. The top panel (0 Hz) shows a bubble's linear path under no acoustic forcing, while the bottom panel (50 Hz) demonstrates the oscillatory motion induced by acoustic waves at a resonance mode. This mechanism holds promising potential for applications such as surface cleaning.

Euromaidan and Ukrainian Subjective Well‐Being
ABSTRACT The 2013–2014 Euromaidan in Ukraine was the largest series of pro‐European protests in history. Peaceful civilian protests were met with state violence, resulting in widespread civil unrest, over 100 deaths, and nearly 2000 injuries. The Russo‐Ukrainian War broke out shortly after. We examined the immediate and long‐term changes in Ukrainians’

Effects of Using a 360-Degree Swaying Chair on Physical Workload During VDT Work
Prolonged visual display terminal (VDT) work leads to static muscular loading, increasing the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. Active chairs have been proposed to alleviate such issues; however, solutions like balance balls often induce discomfort due ...

From Empire to Aid: Analysing Persistence of Colonial Legacies in Foreign Aid to Africa
ABSTRACT For decades now, Western development agencies and donors have been castigated for their colonial biases in providing aid to Africa. It is well established that donors provide considerably more foreign aid to their former colonies relative to other countries.

Dynamic Model of Signal Fading due to Swaying Vegetation
In this contribution, we use fading measurements at 2.45, 5.25, 29, and 60 GHz, and wind speed data, to study the dynamic effects of vegetation on propagating radiowaves.
